Teresa & Mike CHS - Our journal

You hit the nail on the head, I walked in the house at 10:10 PM. You'd think that I would sleep late, but no, I woke up at 4:45 AM.

Teresa and I were talking Friday and she was sad because nobody had any interest in buying Red, their ram. She said they would probably take him to auction with the lambs. He is a sweetheart and she wanted him to go to a good home. He's just what I'm looking for, but not until next year. My plans were to use Rocky this fall and then sell him. I wanted a ram 5-6 years old, all the stupid out of his system, calm, big and with color. We hung up. Minutes later, she called back. She and Mike had a conversation and they made me a deal I couldn't refuse. I said OK, I'll leave in the morning. I left out at 5:15 AM and rolled on down the interstates. It's a hard 12 hour drive. We had discussed me putting the camper top on my truck, but how would we load him? 3 old people with injuries, aches and pains, old people syndrome and weakness up against a 250 pound ram that probably wouldn't agree with our plans. We threw out that idea and i hitched my 16' stock trailer. My fuel gauge is wonky and I'm not confident in it, it is known to lie about the amount of diesel in the tank. So I stopped every 200-250 miles just to be on the safe side. I averaged 12 miles MPG, pulling the trailer and running 75 MPH. I haven't totaled up what I spent on diesel, I don't think I want to know.

So where to put Red? I called @Margali and told her what I did. I asked if she wanted her ewes bred to Red and she quickly said YES!

I left the truck parked in the driveway, at the gate to the front field, gave Red water and a pan of feed and stumbled to the house. I'll unload him this morning and introduce him to his new girlfriends. :love

I looked at my test results from the growth on my ear. Turns out that in the pain range it is a severe on the pain scale but it is benign so that is good news. The pain I can deal with since I have had plenty of practice over the last several years. :)
That's good news Mike. Sorry it's still causing you pain.

Benign is good news, can anything be done for the pain?
