We have them thick up here. They line rooftops and weigh down trees. I'm glad you got one. I hope it sends a message.
Each time that I have shot and hung one up, the rest of the season was pretty much free of them. I haven't seen one flying around us since I got this one.

I am all for the permit killing and any that "wind up dead" from other "natural occurrences", like getting stomped by a donkey or hit by a car ( and they stink if you do hit one).... or any other TIMELY END ......
BUT.... this is not stopping them from the rather prolific reproduction.... and subsequent constant expansion of their "range".... they need to be more heavily "depopulated".... because they are such an invasive species now...

Bruce, I am sorry that they are getting that far north. Maybe you will get lucky and they will freeze to death over the winters up there...

Sorry you had a frost again. What is your "normal" last frost date?

When I was living in TN as a child, about 45 minutes from where I live now, about 30 years ago there were no black vultures. It was all turkey buzzards. Now it's mostly all black vultures. I am skeptical about them needing their protected status.

We went out and opened up some fresh grass for the sheep and lambs that have been in the nursery paddock. We are going to bring them in either tomorrow or the next day to check on weights since the oldest of the lambs will be 30 days old the 21st. The 4th picture has the ram lamb that will be one month old and he looks to be two months old.
