We went ahead and put the ewes and their lambs in our nursery paddock before the numbers get out of hand. While we were sorting them out, Mel decided he was going to stay with the sheep where they are now. Maisy got put back in with the lambs and ewes. She is OK with lambs that are several days old or more but we can't trust her with newborn lambs. We have no way of knowing if she would still want to mother a new lamb or not since we don't trust her to find out but the dogs are good in separate places. It has been two years since she did that but we lost a lamb two years in a row. Maisy would take them off away from the ewes so she could mother them and of course they would die before we would find a carcass.

We weren't looking for color but Red was available when we went looking for a ram.
Now that you have yur desired body conformation established you can look for color if you want. I would like color but with white I concentrate on body type - easer to choose replacements. LOL

Sentry was a newborn thief, I lost several lambs before I figured it out.
Some LGDs want to steal the babies - they either don't trust the mamas to take care of it properly or they think the mama is a danger to the baby. Bubba wanted the newborns for himself too. Usually it is the males that are hyper-lamb-lovers. LOL

Quiet and cold here today but it is still pretty outside. We are having a Leg of Lamb for our Thanksgiving dinner which we both prefer to turkey. :) Teresa has the new car bug and she has decided that she wants to check out Subaru so we will be driving into Nashville tomorrow. Her Mazda has not given us any problems but it's 14 years old and she is getting to where she doesn't trust it so I'm good with getting a new vehicle. She has been using the Ram pickup if she is going very far from home.

Happy Thanksgiving All!!!
