The journey into the abyss of no return

That sucks. I'm sorry that you lost your friend. When I was around 14, my grandfather remarked that if you live your whole life and had one friend, you are lucky. I didn't understand because I had lots of friends. As I grew up, I came to understand what friend truly meant. There are some things that you share with your true friend that no one else can replicate. No one else understands. No one else will always be there no matter what.

A little dark humor to fit the situation......... My grandmother was turning 90 years old. She wanted a formal birthday party, the men were to wear suits and the women were to wear dresses. My mother had to plan the whole thing and let everyone know that their presence was required, and the dress code. Lots of planning and preparation went into this party. Grandmother darn near drove my Mother around the bend, calling all day to remind her of things, already done, the same things Grandmother called about the day before, and the day before, and the day before...... Finally the big day came and I was told to go get Grandmother. As we were driving to Mom's, Grandmother grumbled, "I don't know WHY your mother is making such a big deal over my birthday. All my friends are DEAD."
