One gosling decided to break free in the night and is flopping around as they are so big they take a bit to get any balance. These guys are super charged and ready to get out as the second one is pipping already too. Soon as these are out of lock down and hatched in two days we go 5 more coming. Not cheap birds, especially if any are female at $40 ea.

What breed are they?
African! ;) :) but I did to a quick search ...........
The African or African Goose is a breed of domestic goose. It is one of two domestic breeds that derive from the wild species Anser cygnoides, the other being the Chinese; all other domestic geese derive from Anser anser. Despite the name, it is not from Africa but is of Chinese origin, found in Teochew and Swatow of South China. It is a large bird, among the heaviest of all goose breeds.

Oh you wanted to know what breed of geese they are, yeah African Geese. Of all birds I lose to predators I have never lost one goose. Tangled with one of these and you will be limping back with hurt pride.
Originally got them to protect the flock of ducks and that they do, Pooch is the next line of defense for that and soon to be fence boundary from the direction predators come from. Predators act like well trained soldiers, they attack with the sun to their backs.

My mom kept those. She eventually had to cull the male for the crime of crotch biting perpetrated against the males of the household (...erm, or in other words my dad shot him). GREAT with her though. She had a lot of those dragons. They laid a lot and hatched well, great fertility. They liked hugs from my mother. Hated men though-even the shedragons. I found them too high strung to be easy to work with, but that may be a virtue under your conditions.
