The thought of tipping my almost 200# ram into the sheep deck chair was a bit daunting. He's not a bad ram, but he is a ram and bigger than me. I tipped the ewes and the wether last time around and it was ok. I really didn't want to tip the ram.
I don't know how I found out about the tilt and trim chutes, but however I did, I am happy I found them.
I searched all over the web and there are quite a few out there. The price range was rather large as well +/- $1K. Ouch. It took a lot of stewing on my part to actually order one. I chose the Lakeland chute. Why? Because it had curved sides (that just had to be easier on the sheep), free shipping, other tilt chutes had more "Working pieces" like a pulley system and similar. To me that just looked like a weak link and something that could go wrong. And possibly require more muscle to work.
