I went to my frist show last year, and did great, but I think I might of did some things wrong. I got a Second Place and a Third Place. The judge really like my cow, but she wasn't show material because she was short. She was only 6 motnhs old at the time. I set her up wrong because my dad told that a dairy cow should be set up like a beef steer and that to walk her slowly. I just need some really good advice and tips on showing a dairy heifer this year so I can show what she is made of. :hu

I've only done a little dairy showing, but when I showed you were supposed to walk the animal slowly, so they look graceful. When you set them up, you don't use a stick. You're also supposed to try to get the near side leg (nearest to the judge) just a step back from the off leg, so that if there was an udder the judge would be able to see it. Keep your hand up under the jaw holding on to the halter, don't keep a loose lead. And keep the head up.

See if you can find some pictures online or some videos on youtube to help more! Good luck and have fun!:)
