Let me start by saying I am very confused about how to do anything with registering goats. I purchased 3 mini mancha goats one year ago all registered with TMGR as experimental. I do have the certificates of registration and the previous owner signed the transfer form (bill of sale) but I never did anything with them so the certificates of registration still have the previous owners name on them.
I have bred the two does and one of the does is due to kid March 6th. I want to be able to register her kids. I did go online to TMGR but I'm still confused.
Do I need to become a member myself with TMGR and create a herd name in order to register any kids born?
How to I complete the transfer from previous owner to me(is there a form I'm supposed to fill out that I can't find)?
Thanks for any help

I don't know anything about TMGR but I would join if I were you. You will need a herd name because registered goats have tattoos and you would need to be able to tattoo your herd code in the one ear.

TMGR works the same as any other registry. You need a herdname and a tattoo sequence...yep, you'll need to join, send in transfers, register your herdname and tatt sequence.

I am a member of TMGR. To transfer the does into your name you will have to send in their registrations and the fee to transfer. In order to get your kids born on your farm registered you will need to be a member to get your herdname and tatoo prefix set up and that will also lower the cost of the fees for registering, transferring and such. There should just be an application you can pring out from their site that you can check a box saying you want to transfer the doe into your name.
