Most LGDs have evolved over several thousand years, from the times when flocks, the shepherds and dogs roamed in search of grazing and water. The weak perished or was destroyed, the strong survived and the best was bred.
Discussions about Anatolians, Kangal, Boz and other Turkish breeds get real interesting. Defenders of the different names insist theirs is a breed different from the others. Other people say they are all one and the same, Anatolians. And the debate rages on…
