I have a doe that appears to be very pregnant. We do not know when she was bred, because she constantly jumped over the fence this summer and could have been exposed to our buck any time. We will soon be traveling about 8 hours by car to visit family. Normally we have a friend farm sit our critters, but we are concerned about when she will kid, so we plan to take her with us. We have all of the supplies, trailer, etc, and we were planning to take our 4 doelings from this year anyway. My parents have property where they can be housed, and we will have a vet lined up in case of emergency.

My question is - What extra precautions and considerations should we take for moving this pregnant goat? We know it will be stressful for her, and we want to help her as much as we can if she happens to be as close to kidding as we believe.

We are hopeful that she will kid before we travel, but based on the looks of her udder, she isn't quite ready.
