We went for just 6 days, and had a ball! The country is absolutely beautiful....if you ever get the chance to go there - DON'T MISS THE CHANCE!

The people are warm and welcoming (they all speak English), and the country is spectacular.

Here are some photos I took of the Icelanic Horses - the ONLY breed of horses on the entire Island (roughly the size of Kentucky). They do not allow the importation of horses at all. Period. Even horses taken to compete on the European mainland, are not allowed to re-enter Iceland.

Starting with my favorite - I'd have brought him home if I could!

I know! They take HUGE offense if you call them ponies! They don't consider it a term of endearment like we do.

Many of them weren't even 13hh! *shrugs* Horse/pony/whatever - they were cute!

I was just going to say "dont call them ponies you wont be allowed in to iceland!!" lol my dear friend who also lives right behind me has an icelandic farm and alwasys refures to my qt horse as "your stock ponies" and her "my icelandic horses" it cracks me up because my 16 h quarter"stock pony" is chopped liver next to her 14 imported hand picked icelandic steed lol!

Iceland chickens and horses share the hair on the for head thing. Guess people from iceland like that.
