We lunged him again today, me and my two sisters, it was my little sisters first time lunging a horse. Then we braided his mane and tail, just for funšŸ˜‰ and he rolled and undid itšŸ˜†

I had a book on braiding manes and tails. When my husband died in September 2021, I decided to sell our farm and move to my sons rent house until I found another place. I couldnā€™t take my horses with me, so I sold them REAL cheap. Got tons of responses but picked out who I wanted my horses to go to. I figured there might be good families that wanted a horse and would care for one, but couldnā€™t afford $3000 to $5000 for one. My gelding, Prince, went to a family with 4 kids. Their 10 year old little girl was so excited and I gave her the book on braiding manes and tails. She gave me a big hug. Sad moment for me but happiest day of that little girlā€™s life.

Lunged him again today on his shiny new lead rope, 14 ft this time instead of 10 ft . Put his saddle pad on and took it off then put it back on again. Brother gave me a leg up and I sat on his back for the first time, he didnā€™t react in the slightest, just stood there. Then my sister gave him a man bun.

Rode tucker a little yesterday, just bareback and at a walk only (someone led him on a separate lead rope in case he got antsy) all I did was sit and scratch him. he got excited when he realized I was going to be riding him, I really think he enjoys it as much as I do. I also got this great pic of him yawningšŸ˜†

Tucker is a good, solid horse. Iā€™m pretty sure you could saddle him up and ride wherever you wanted and heā€™d be fine. He strikes me as one of those horses that you can ride often, then put him out to pasture for months to a year, and pick up where you left off. It is wise on your part to take it slow. You are building your own confidence and yā€™all are getting to know each other.
