Greetings all.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to secure a kid when banding? :)
I wish to make banding a two handed / one man operation.
I have thought on it for some time, but have not attempted to put any of my concepts into practice.
Thanks for any help.

I did exactly that and had no issues whatsoever... I took the poor boy and flipped him on his back and straddled him. Then carefully selected his balls, making sure I had both and pulled them up through the elastrator band, one at a time, and then grabbed both to make sure they didn't slip back through. then made sure I hadn't pulled his teats/nipples through and released the band. Easy peezy.

No sweat, no strain and he was more concerned about being humiliated by being put on his back than about his jewels. Though he did walk a might bit slower and carefully over the next 3-5 days. After which time he was back to his old jumping around self.

I do them alone as well. I sit down on the ground and put them between my knees with their butt on the ground. It seems to immobilize them to be seated on their butt.

Thanks.
So you sat on his head? :)
My goats have a habit of nipping at just about anything in reach.
Maybe I can wear a cup. Hmmm ...
Bit of irony if I were de-jeweled as well. :)
I will give it a try when the rain stops.

:yuckyuck:lol: Turn about is fair play sorta thing? :gig I didn't actually "sit" on him, just held him between my legs so he'd say on his back. As long as he was on his back, he didn't struggle at all... just kept trying to look around my leg to see what I was doing. Let us know how it goes for you.

I quite often do research and figure things out myself.
This time I decided to inquire regarding this subject.
Thanks for the help.
Yes, the irony is not lost on me if he nips me in the nether regions.
He is the only survivor of 4 kids born to my oldest doe on the the coldest night here in some "long" number of years, -8°F.
It is supposed to be dry tomorrow and Saturday, and very windy, so I might give it a go then.
Take care.

Got it done yesterday.
Pretty much as I had expected; a great deal of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Mostly loudly wailing for Momma.
I found something of interest when I went to band him.
One of his testicles was very much underdeveloped compared to the other.
I had to dig in a bit to be sure I had it all.
Thanks for all the help.
Take care and be safe.
Have a great year!
