Maybe you can take solace in your other animals and the new group of huggables that should be arriving any day now. It won't replace her, but will add new joy(s) (as well as challenges I'm sure) to your days. Excited to see your new arrivals when they start their lives! I'm sure momma will be glad to shed those extra pounds as well in the heat of high summer.

Virginia is for Pasture Farmers!
I had misplaced the wool samples from my flock when I sheared them this spring. Just found them the other day (and shipped them out before I had a chance to misplace them again).

This is all that I have left of her.

I very carefully and gently washed it and put it outside to dry. Still needs to dry a little more.

IDK what I will do with it, was going to carefully brush one half of it and do the same to the other if it turned out well. But after that, I'll probably store it and save it.

Oh my goodness you are describing what just happened with my Ristretto. We had a week of non stop rain and he just killed over one morning. Broke my heart. What is it about the rain that causes them to die suddenly? I thought maybe pneumonia but wouldn't that take some time to affect them?

Pneumonia can hit hard and fast with little to no prior warning.
