My goat finally had her baby and I wasn't there. When I realized she had her the umbilical cord had already been separated is there anything I should do or just leave mom and baby to bond?

Put some iodine on it. A fresh umbilical cord is an open pathway for pathogens to enter the baby's body. Iodine it several times over the first 24 hours is best. If you don't have iodine some people just tie it off with dental floss close to the babies body.

Congratulations on having a cute baby and welcome to BYH!

It depends on how long it is. If it touches the ground, I tie off and use my fingernail to pull the part furthest from the goat off below the tie. Otherwise, it’ll shrivel up as it dries and the iodine will do its job. Dry bedding is always a plus too.
