Unvaccinated Pregnant Does?

I have 3 does that I’m pretty sure have never been vaccinated. This will be our first time kidding our does are due between 4-6 weeks. I was going to vaccinate the does with the CD-T vaccine this weekend and then the babies at 4 weeks and 8 weeks but now I’m reading conflicting info on if I should or not if they’ve never been vaccinated? Advice please!

My friend never vaccinated her goats in 40 years. My vet recommended to not vaccinate kids till 8 weeks old and then boost a month later.

Do you have a good animal vet in your area?

Or maybe ask the local extension agent.

Or maybe a local goat friend?


Regional differences are huge.... I never had an issue... and never vaccinated... and my baby sis with her huge herd doesn't either...

But that does not mean that you are safe... or will not have losses if you do not vaccinate....
