I have several black walnut trees in my yard, is it ok to feed them to my pigs?
Thanks Brian

I haven't but I would. We didn't get any walnuts this year. Black walnut hulls are a natural dewormer.

I did give them 3-4 that I found and worried briefly about how hard those shells are...then saw one of my pigs breaking rocks in her teeth just because! :P

dang pigs! just another reason to hates them pigs... we had a black walnut tree over at the old farm and i couldnt get those stupid nuts to crack with a jackhammer!

hum.. maybe i'll take a bucket with me next time we go over there...

Walnuts are a valuable feed for some ham producers in europe. These particular pigs are fed walnuts and other grains and seeds.

This is supposed to the natural wild foods that the pigs would eat and the ham is really expensive and said to be some of the best.

So, yeah, they are fine for them to have. They also like acorns, too.
