I have a week old lamb here with me. The mom had four and this baby was the only survivor. She stays at the house with me until she gets stronger and can go back to the farm with all of the others. Within the past couple of days her nostril has began to swell. It doesn't seem to bother her unless I touch it. Her other Noservices now has a sore on it and looks as though it's starting to swell. It's cold and snowy here so I can't imagine a bug bite. Any suggestions ?

Welcome to BYH and I'm sorry to hear the other lambs didn't make it. Is the swelling hot? Does she have a temperature? Is she still eating fine? I haven't seen orf (soremouth) so I would not be sure about that, or if there could be other causes such as a spider bite (if she's in the house there could still be spiders or other bugs around) or abscess from something. There's lots of sheep folks here so hopefully one of them will weigh in, too.

She eats fine. Runs around and nibbles on everything. She just has the swollen nose issue and I'm not sure how to help her with it or if I even can lol

Poor little thing. It does look as though it could be an allergy to a bite or something (assuming she hasn't run into and smacked her nose on a solid object).

She's looking others fine and clearly is enjoying her milk. Lovely pic.

Hope she gets better soon.

Since it's infected, you may want to give the entire area a real good drenching with a 50/50 water and hydrogen peroxide mix then maybe coat it with some triple antibiotic.
