What age is best to start to halter break my calves? They are both 1 month old now.
Also, how do I go about it?
Ive never halter broke a calf or cow before, just had them to where they'd come when I called them or shook a bucket of grain, and I could move them around that way.
But these are registered calves and I want to show them, so they need to be halter broke and lead.
Thank You!

They should be started now before they get any bigger. You just put the halter on and start leading, if they woun't move put another rope aroun their back end and give a little pull. Most likley they will take off an try to pull you. if they are use to grain you can see if they will follow you for grain as you are lead them, but its pretty much just taking time and work with them.

one month old would be the best in my opinion. I am currently working on halter-breaking a one month old calf myself
