This morning I woke up to feed the bunnies, and I noticed one of my recently castrated bucks was lying in the cage, still alive, but with a thick white discharge from his nose. He was gasping with his mouth wide open as well :\
He couldn't really lift his head either, and if he did, he would smack his jaw on the cage floor...
Any ideas as to what was up? I ended up euthanizing him because I didn't want him to suffer (he was my buddy and my favorite rabbit)
He was only a year old too.
Thanks in advance!

Most people would look at that thick white goo and say, "Pasteurella." It might be that bacterium, or perhaps another, but I'd say the stress of the surgery taxed his immune system just enough to allow an infection that he had been keeping under control to get the better of him. I'm sorry for your loss.
