What would dry, wirely coats on Nigerians be indicative of?

Could also be zinc deficient. They really shouldn't have rough coats. If there is a lot of iron in the water, then they may not be absorbing copper properly since iron binds copper.
Just found out why OUR NDs have rough coats... We have sooo much iron here

That'll do it! :/

You could also try adding wheat germ oil on their feed. My one girl gets dry skin and a rough coat coming out of winter so I give her Rex Brand Wheat Germ Oil daily and it takes care of her problem.

Hah, I am in an iron rich area too, very rusty, irony water. Everywhere around here is known for taconite, an iron rich mineral mined for ore. A lot of cities are named after their iron mining exploits...Iron Mountain, Iron River, Ironwood, etc.

Blackoil sunflower seeds mixed in their feed is also good for their coats. Oreo my pygmy / ND cross has fluffy bunny soft coat. She is cuddly.
Even her mom has soft coat.

My nubian has made a lot of improvements in her coat since I got her.
I also mix the loose minerals in their feed rations as it is the only way my spoiled girls will eat it.
