When to trim hooves.

I'm new to sheep still and haven't had to trim their hooves yet. I'm curious about how to tell when they need done. I have tried to find pics online for examples but all I ever find are cases where it is well past due.

I don’t have a regular schedule for trimming my sheep hooves. I run them through the chute for various purposes and trim any that need it. I try not to trim heavy pregnant ewes hooves and wait until after they lamb.
