I'm going to be putting up some field fencing, and have been seeing a wide variability in pricing. It's almost twice as expensive here in California as in places like Colorado. It might almost be cheaper to ship it half way across the country than to buy it here, as crazy as that sounds.

So does anyone have a good source for field fencing?

One word. Craigslist.

I never EVER buy fencing from "stores" here, it's absolutely insane the prices they charge. :he

You can also call fence companies and ask if they have any they are throwing away. I just got about 400' of chainlink by doing that, granted a lot it needs cutting and rewoven back together, but you can't beat free! ;)

And Southern; nope, we have NEITHER of those places here. :(

Tractor supply online might be an option or try Premier. They have all types of fencing be it permanent, semi-permanent, or temporary.

OMG if you think CO prices are good come a bit farther east and you'll be really jumping for joy!

Here I pay about $129.00 for 325ft of 48 inch field fencing. About 20 bucks for a 16ft piece of cattle panel (the hard panels that can stand without stretching) and about $3.75 or so for a T post.

In CO it was outrageous! I can only imagine CA. I had about 200 used T posts in CO, then we moved. It was going to cost an arm and a leg to move them so I sold them on craigs list for about 2.50 each. People were beating my door down!

Craig's list is great but I hardly ever see any on there and then if you do you better be on it at 6am or it's gone!

Shipping would eat the good prices but maybe if you were buying enough it'd be worth it?
