I have two New Zealand rabbits I just bought from a shop owner who didn't know their age. I am guessing are around 5-7 weeks old because their weight is roughly 800 grams and according to a chart that should be their age range. Anyways they are still little. However, the little guy has been trying to do the deed with the female. I dont want her to get pregnant too soon until she is actually mature enough to raise a litter without health problems. When do I have to separate them to avoid this? If he is already trying is she safe until she is actually ready or is it best I remove him until then?

Do you mean am I sure he is New Zealand? No, not really but its my best guess when looking at their shape and all. They are white with red eyes.
Remove him if he is trying. Are you sure of breed?

Florida whites are also all white with red eyes and similar in type. not impossible but I wouldnt expect a rabbit that age to be showing signs of sexual maturity.
