WOW oh WOW! That is one healthy coyote with the full fur and tail. Do the guard dogs have enough fur to not allow any damage from the coyote while they are fighting?

The LGD fur definitely helps protect to a degree. Size of predator makes a difference. But that coyote was waaay outsized by the dog. I suspect it was a short fight.

Yes for sure, Qinzer has a type of ‘mane’ that I can barely burrow my fingers down into, and the neck is the number one spot attacked in dog fights so she is well protected.

Bad News: After a week or so of warm weather, we had a sudden ice storm and lost 39 of the rescue chickens. They had hardly any feathers, the poor things and I came home to dead chickens everywhere. I cried, alot, which surprised me because I hardly ever cry over dead chickens.
Good News: We got 55 female chicks last week and 50 more male chicks yesterday, they are thriving and happy and warm.

Sorry for the rescue losses. It's tragic and sad they had been allowed to get to that point. You tried to help. Weather didn't.
