Our Spanish Goats out on new Spring pasture. These kids were born right out on pasture and therefore learn how to find their food at an early age. Most of the adult goats were also born/ raised on pasture. Our goats are currently shedding their winter cashmere coat in favor of a slick short glossy coat similar to a horse's summer coat. Our farm is not certified organic, but we are mostly organic and rotate pastures to keep down on the use of commercial dewormers. Our goats in turn help keep our farm well manicured.

You have a nice flock of goats! I’m envious of that beautiful pasture!
Thanks Baymule! I don't know how nutritious this forage is at the time, so I am supplementing their forage with TSC protein tubs. Our goats forage year-round and the winter forage is usually low quality (mainly fescue and clovers) so we make sure we keep a little protein source around for them. Once mid-April rolls around and no more frosts no more protein until we get the first frost in Fall. I have said for a couple of years that I was going to overseeding with a deer plot mix but haven't. Maybe this Fall.
