If he is living with GF maybe he should think about renting his house out. Of course, that would mean that when they have a fight, and he leaves (temporarily) he would have to come home to mom! So maybe not. LOL

I prefer the way that Teresa and I are. We literally have never had a fight. :)

I mentioned the renting out of the house but he has sooooo much stuff there would not be a place to put it all and he had trouble with his rental house until after the 3rd renter, did he get a real good one, so he is not willing to go that route. Plus his chickens and sheep are at his house and he takes care of them when he comes to the barn anyway... Oh well....

oh well....

Tuesday eve.... It was a nice enough day yesterday.... sun early, clouding up late afternoon... got rain overnight and into this morning so wetter and soggier ground... last night was only down to 37 so not even freezing.... today it hit 53 late this afternoon....
I got all the clothes in off the line... had washed all the "kitchen towels" that I emptied out of the cabinet where the mise had been into.... GRRRR:mad::mad::he:he:somad:somad:somad:rant:rant:rant..... They were disgusting.... BUT :fl:fl keeping my fingers crossed as I have not seen or heard anything for 17 days.... got the last one on Jan 1st..... The terry cloth type towels were a little damp, but the cotton and linen ones were dry. I "hung the terry ones and the potholders" all around the LR on the arms of the chairs and they dried overnight. Got clothes to fold still....

So I wound up testing a farm this afternoon... they start 1:30-2 p.m. since they start by 2:30-3 a.m.... so after getting more meters in the car and hoses to add to the ones from Friday eve... I needed 16 today.... I got the bottles in the racks and then did all the dishes I had pulled out of the cabinet.... puttered with more stuff in the house... and had to leave around noon... so not near as much as I was hoping to do. Planned to do more this evening... but plans got changed...
On the way home, as I was coming up the road, I saw lights on at the barn, so came down the driveway to check on things... Never know....

DS was just putting the power steering box on the red truck.... so I was talking to him a few minutes.. and it wasn't the "box" because the new one still had it turning hard...but the old one had gone bad and he replaced it with a used one he had and it worked for a couple weeks then just quit, so he got a brand new one for it.... and it wasn't the box..... so he figured it had to be the pump.... so called, and there were 2 different ones for that truck...but the Advance closest was closing at 8.... so I offered to run down there (it is now 7:30 or so) and it is 20 minutes away.... So I "flew" down there... DS was on the phone with them... and I walked in right at 8... they had both of them... I just got both, put them on the card.... and got back at 8:45 after paying etc.... Stayed at the barn and talked to DS and he took the old one off and figured which one he needed and proceded to get the new pump on....
I wasn't about to tell him but I would have checked the pump first... but since the box went out originally, he just decided it was the box and not the pump... Plus, usually the pump will "whine" when it is going bad and this one didn't make any noise....
So he will return the one he didn't need, and take back the core for the core charge... and all that.. tomorrow since he is often down that way for VDOT stuff....
And yes, he has power steering again.....

Needless to say, I did not get anything done this evening, here at the house like I planned....

I am tired out... made some spaghetti since it is fast and easy.... and am going to go to bed shortly. In the morning, I will get the samples packed and get more stuff done in the house since I am on a roll with wanting to get all this "going".... I will take and paint the insides of the cabinets, I didn't do them all when it didn't seem to make a difference in the smell... but this one where the dish towels and all is totally separate.... MAYBE a second coat will be the trick..... But in the meantime, I am REBOXING EVERYTHING.... and going to give them a THOROUGH cleaning out .... AGAIN....

Got 2 texts out to farmers for testing.... might test one more day if someone wants... but I am going to make a concerted effort, to get some things done here I have let go.....

Since I have been working on getting things boxed and the towels washed and all... cleaning/washing with soapy water all the stuff I have been taking out of the cabinets.... I have not finished cleaning off the counter... That is On The LIST..... for tomorrow. I have some cans and food stuff that needs to go in the upper cabinets, then will go through and see what needs to be tossed ; like napkins, and some paper towels... and I found some half eaten packages of "nabs"... crackers and such... that I tend to take with me to farms so I am not starving/sick to my stomach..... to come home and it keeps me awake on the drive home like the other night at 9-10 p.m.......SORRY SOB's.....

The good thing is , it is supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow and on Thursday... with rain again on Thursday... so I will put the plants out on the table, during the day.... and they will be out of the way for vacuuming.....and washing the counters down and the floor....Then it will drop to more normal of 40's and upper 20's at night...

I just looked and it is after midnight already.... Folded some of the towels while I was waiting on the water to boil for the spaghetti... I am going to put them all in one of the plastic totes I got from my parents house... got about 5-6 I think... salvaged them before they went in the dumpster... and they will keep any "new mouse problems" out of the stuff, unlike the nice cardboard boxes I had put some stuff in.......Got several that are going to the dumpster... not real big and I could break them down for the garden but they just smell... and I don't want to touch them... Not like there won't be more cardboard around to get.... I will throw it all in the back of the truck and just take it with me.....

Gotta go to bed.... hoping for a good day tomorrow....

It only got down to 46 last night... and hit 60 so far toiday. Started out real nice and sunny but is clouding up some. Nice breeze though. I found some more things that had evidence of mice, so did a small load and then did a load of jeans/work clothes that smelled like cow sh!t and iodine.... They are out and will be dry by tonight.
Spider plants all out on the deck table, etc.. Put the Norfolk island pines out... everything I found said they like sun... and cannot survive temps under 35 or 40... but do well inside even in less than perfect light in the winter.... So, we will see.
Got more things in the sink washed and am taking a break for some lunch of the leftover spaghetti. As soon as everything is dry, I will put it all away and then start on the counter top....taking everything off and cleaning...

Got a call that some calves were out right next door along the road. There were a few staples missing on wires but it is the stupid hi-tensile fence wire that has NO insulators to be able to electrify it... So they reach through and it gets stretched out.....There are some of the tensioners on it so I tried to tighten the wires up some, but got one I can't get to work.
Hope they will stay in for a bit.... texted DS that I needed him to help me get the one to work and to help tighten it a bit more...

Got some stuff in the truck to take to the dumpster.... more to get loaded I hope. Going out to take some stuff out into the storage shed.... pots and potting soil and some other stuff that is just "laying" around.

Going to go in and vacuum the kitchen floor and wash it so I can bring in the plants later... I want to put them back out tomorrow in the rain, as it is supposed to be warm again with the rain. Don't think I will try to leave them out all night though as it is supposed to drop into low 40's.... The "rain water" has some nitrogen and it usually better for the plants....

Have a nagging headache I have had for 2 days... it is getting aggravating.

Going in to pack the samples so I can drop them off when I go out.

Gas went from 2.99 to 3.19 at the local stations overnight....

Not a very nice day out. Cloudy and not getting warm like they said. We are getting a little bit of showers/rain but it is going to be minimal by the looks of it. Ground is wet and still muddy so not upset but it sure is not warming like they had forecast.
Now there is a possibility of some "wintry mix" in the next few days.

Working in the house and taking a few minutes for a break.
