Hello Y'all! I just let my 1 buck and 2 does to pasture a couple of minutes ago. As I was watching them for a bit, I saw one of the does, Willow, urinating, but with blood in it. I thought she had been pregnant but from one day she had been chubby to the next day she was as thin as a twig. She got a bit chunky again, though not as much as before. Is she bleeding out the miscarried kid? Or is she pregnant again and giving birth soon? I've had them for a bit more than a year but this is my first time with pregnancy and birthing. What are the signs of birthing and extra tips for this? I'm really new to this so, if you will get technical with in this area. Thanks! 💚

Whoa...didn't get that alert.🤷

First, how is she now?

Willow, urinating, but with blood in it
Define please....was urine reddish liquid or you saw strips of something red? If mucus, could be infection, damaged tissue, mucus plug, or...?...can't offer much help with this statement being so broad to interpret from afar.

If they've been all together, all along, I'd suggest removing buck. When giving birth the buck often detects the smell as coming into heat and breeds or annoys waaay too much. But if all together the does have been bred!

As to stomach size, heavy grazing can extend their gut, they digest, it goes down. Yes can be dramatic.

No the liquid had a reddish hue to it. Her right side is bulging a bit more than normal. Any more ideas?

If she has no fever, is not lethargic, she's eating, drinking, and acting normal, I'd say she's fine. Urine can appear darker or lighter. Bellies change size with rumen fill, even several times a day.

From what you have said, I am not thinking you have a problem -- beyond separating buck from pregnant does.
