I'm thinking only fed tax not withheld. Fica is mandatory & that means an employer could be fined heavily for not collecting & depositing this. Plus, unless an independent contractor, an employee is not charged for employer side.

@Mini Horses is right. They withheld social security and Medicare taxes so they don't have IRS issue. They just didn't withhold the federal which gets us in trouble.

You could file at latest date, make a couple fed deposits before...even get a payment plan.

That happened to our youngest daughter when she moved to Virginia right out of high school. She had no idea about it until the IRS dunned her for the taxes.

You can make payments. You can call and get payment set up. They will send you a letter and monthly statements. Or you can let them take automatic payments from your account. They have all your information anyway. Just try not paying them and see how fast they shut you out of your bank account.

That is what DD2 had to do. It was waitress work/. The employer got aound paying any benefits etc. by listing all his staff as contractor help. Now she checks to make sure the employer is deducting.

So I changed my FB profile job to “looking for new opportunities”. Somebody apparently saw that and told HR Lady. She just called me all panicked because of that and me changing insurance. I told her I wasn’t enjoying being in engineering department and doing more project work. That I enjoyed working with Operation and Maintenance departments but starting to get dropped out of loop because view is I’m no longer accessible. She said she would talk to BossStupid’s boss. LOL

I pointed out Alijah job’s insurance is awesome and like $10k per year better.

Yep, I was precise and honest with her. :
- I am not reliant on work for insurance as of February.
- I am not happy in engineering department. I stated that I told BossStupid I didn’t want to work for him back in May before I was reassigned to his department.
- I am happy working with my colleagues in Operations and Maintenance departments.
- I have not accepted a new position and if I do I plan to give proper notice.

The fact that I no longer give a damn about the company is irrelevant. That I would allow a recruiter to run thru their job opportunities vs short cutting with “not interested” is stated in the “looking for new opportunities” flag on LinkedIn since August and FB now.

Maybe this will get you moved to where you can enjoy the job again... may wake them up... might get you to find something else that will suit better... maybe a part-time job that will give you more time with the kids and animals since the insurance will be a non-issue next week....
