More Racka pics. Horns are coming along except for one ewe lamb. Twister has gone full “Cousin It” mode. He gets a makeover in about a month. He doesn’t appear to be uncomfortable and I can’t see any signs of problems. There are plenty of cool, shady spots the whole flock can rest in.

The RackaX report. 10 lambs total. 8 are old enough to judge horn shapes, 4 ewe lambs 2 with scur horns. This may be because their Painted Desert dams didn’t have horns. One PD dam does have horns and her daughter has a good start on them. 3 ram lambs, 2 have excellent horn starts, robust with a definite horizontal tendency. One mystery gender (fleece grew out :p) horns are so-so.
Initially it looks like the Racka horn genetics carry over. Unfortunately so does the fleece. Twister gets his makeover in a few days. He is not uncomfortable, it’s actually been unseasonably cool.

But.... what are your plans now that you have all of these fleece covered sheep?
Exotics sales. Freezer camps. Clippering, I’m too old to shear. I will contact clubs with my results and I’ll bet I’ll see interest from people wanting novel horns. The fleece problem can be solved but more Racka genes are needed.
