If they have a dry coop to get out of the weather, that’s all they need. If they choose to go play in the rain, it’s ok. Most of the time, given a choice, they’ll go to their coop.
Yeah but I don't really have a coop big enough for all of them to be in at the same time. I have 3 coops and I should really just call them 3 nest boxes because of how small they are. I had to bring Darlin and Little One in one time because it was so wet that they couldn't even lift their wings up

The milk would be for the family. Our children and grandchildren plus we would drink it. I'm not to sure about goats milk just because I don't know that I have ever had it. I can just see us processing a steer, ram, billy and boar. I would tell our kids get yourself here unless you want to pay for all of your food.

Still -- think how much milk you would use/need per day. Having a milking animal is NOT like WalMart where you can pop in for a quqrt or gallon, only when you're ready for or need it. Nope. You will need to milk every day, at least once and for most 2X. They will give a quantity that can be perfect, or overwhelming, depends on each animal. However, you must milk, then deal with quantity. A cow can be a 2 gal or a 6 gal provider. A goat a pint to 2+ gal per day. You can see that your frig fills fast!. Kids don't want "their share" for 3 days --- the animals don't care, you're getting it every day!!! Now, extra frig is full, too.:lol:

I'm a person who milks. I love the home dairy! 🙂It's something I encourage for a dairy lover. Just saying, know what you're signing up for before you spend. Yeah, mine are goats. Great milk. There are pro/con for each.

Let us know when you're ready to shop 😉

We would be sharing the milk also making milk based stuff. We have 8 grandkids, our son and daughter in law, daughter and her boyfriend and the youngest daughter. The neighbor that lives next to our son and daughter in law has a daughter, herself and foster children. I don't think anyone would turn down free food from us.
