Yesterday marked 4 years since BJ died. I chose to spend it with friends at the Trinity County fair. I waited until 5:00 to go. Even though it’s in my county, it’s an hour drive to get there. Sundance Head was the live music attraction, his dad was Roy Head, a rock star back in the day. He put on a good show and can really belt out a song. His last song was one of Roy Head’s hits, Treat Her Right. Some people danced, it puzzles me how anyone can dance in flip flops. One young woman was dancing and having a good time until she jumped up on stage. My friend and another man quickly got her off, police showed up and she got some shiny bracelets. Our sheriff was there, he’s always anywhere and everywhere when something is going on. He’s not one of those guys that sits in his office.

The fair was busy, the livestock auction was going on, I stopped by long enough to see a pig auctioned off at $2,300. The carnival rides were roaring, vendors of everything imaginable and lots of carnival food vendors. I enjoyed myself and had a good time. Got home late, drove slower because I was in the woods all the way home, Kamakazie deer like to jump out in their insane game of “chicken” and I didn’t want to total my car. LOL

I turned off the alarm, gulping down second cup of coffee, then I’ve got to hustle through morning chores so I can get to church on time. September ends my quarter teaching the children class.

This afternoon at 1:00 Central time is the memorial service for Charlie Kirk. I will be planted in my recliner watching it.

We had a great 25 years. We had a shotgun wedding. The sheriff showed up with his shotgun and announced, “I’m here to make sure BobbyJoe gets married and Dana don’t run off.”

I especially love the second photo. You should have that framed and on the wall.

You look too cute in your pretty dress and boots.
I'm glad you had fun!
Thanks Kiki! You should stop by more often. If you want a trip to the country in the middle of nowhere, let me know! You can sit on the porch and I'll give you all the iced tea you want. Sweet or unsweet?

I don’t have a lot of winterizing to do, but I’ve been doing the little things that need attention. Today is put the pallet/tin backing back on the end of the cow panel hoop shelter in the middle field. It got sorta kinda discombobulated.

I had to dig out the dirt/poop piled against it, try to move it, go dig some more. The pallets are rotting but look like they will make it another winter.

The tarp needs replacing as does the flap in front that serves to keep blown in rain blowing somewhere else. I’ll take the flap down tomorrow. It may rain today and while it has holes in it, it still offers some shelter.

In my dragging, lifting and torture of dying pallets in stage one of decomposing, I popped some tin off. When I came in for a drill and tin screws, the attraction of a shady porch, ice water and rocking char was too strong to resist. Gonna get some more water.
