My sister & I met up for lunch last weekend. We had just sat down from the Chinese buffet line when a man and his wife came to the table.
"Are you Debbie?"
(cautious side-eye) "Yes.....?"
"Did you go to Bensley Elementary?"
(full-on WTH side-eye) "For kindergarten......
"I knew it! We were in the same class. "
He told us his name but I was confused & a little shocked so I immediately forgot it. After a little bit of very brief small talk where he introduced his wife, he said 'You haven't changed a bit." Then they left.
I turned to my sister and said "Did I look like THIS in Kindergarten?!?!"
She said, "Probably why you didn't have any friends!"

This made me laugh out loud!
Laughed out loud!We should get together, maybe we could put together a full set between us...A brief update
Eva has only shown 3 cycles since she was bred in March. My hay guy insists that she looks heavy pregnant to him. Possible??? She is DEFINITELY a chonk. He pointed out that the right side of her barrel is noticeably lower than the left. (not like bloat! just one side hanging lower than is normal). So.... maybe a Dec calf after all??? Maybe not?
I'll just keep a close eye on her back end over the next few weeks.
1 of the Breese is laying an egg every day. Or.... at least, I'm getting 1 light tan egg a day since they reached maturity.
Mama Wendy's 2nd clutch of babies have started trying to crow. I know it's silly but I just love that sound. Last night I found a small white egg... so they are starting to lay too.
Time to set a date in the early spring for those little roos & possibly the Breese.
Work is just weird. My trainer has decided that I'm not the enemy & seems happy (most of the time) to teach me all the ins & outs of this job.The weirdness is coming from mgt. They have been having (secret private) meetings for weeks discussing my progress (...or their opinion of my lack of progress
).
Having these kinds of discussions without any input from the trainer or the trainee is ridiculous. Trying to assign deadlines but not telling either of us about them is pointless.
The new department head started 2days after me. I'm ready to prove skills & sign-off on 11 of 13 processes .... she has read the SOPs, .... but I haven't met those imaginary training deadlines. Also, my trainer tells me that it was nearly a year before she was at this point. So where are they getting these deadlines??? I'll be working alone the 3-day week of Thanksgiving and then again for almost 2 weeks between Christmas week & next year. I'm not concerned. We're working to be ready for any task they demand in her absence.
The holidays will soon be here so trying to clean & cook is taking a priority during off time. And just because I can't resist making things difficultI've started a deep cleaning & organizing binge. Master bath - done. Utility room is next... then The Kitchen!
Anyone want a few dozen old plastic containers that may or may not have matching lids??![]()

Peter Principle = people are promoted to their level of incompetence...into management, and without a clue.We should get together, maybe we could put together a full set between us...
Sounds like your animals are doing well, love when we start to have new layers. And maybe a Christmas baby!
Sad some of the people that get management positions. Probably because they have a degree, but no skills and hands on knowledge to go with it. The world is backwards.
Sorry you're getting grief at work.A brief update

This is very accurate in so many places.Peter Principle = people are promoted to their level of incompetence...into management, and without a clue.
