Up for a couple hours.
:caf

Coffee brewed, at hand.
Laundry washed, in dryer.
Outside cats fed.
Inside cat fed.
Puttered around doing stuff.

Tried calling town clerk in Connecticut to check status of my marriage licence replacement copies, not answering phone.

Made a To Do list for today.

Once clothes are dry I will be heading out on errands. DS is supposed to come along to help me pick up a parlor palm tree I have at work. It's too tall to fit in my Honda, I need to use the SUV.

Later!

One more day, and then a week off. I get to see family tomorrow night, some friends Sunday, and lots more Monday.
Starting to think about getting chilly here, but the town needs it, we need the snow for winter tourism.
Should be a chill work day, can't imagine anyone having any desire to be productive.
I call it the plunge. Here comes winter and it's carrying a lead pipe. We never hit almost sub zero before January, going to be a brutal winter if this pattern holds.

Hmmmm, and to think I am coming your way for Thanksgiving with some family. I suppose I'll pack a jacket or two.

I would be wearing every warm article of clothing I have.

Thanks. I'm still raising registered Scottish Highlands. Down to 2 retired nubian goats.
Not much else going on. I lost my Partner last year after a 2 yr cancer battle, so it's just me on the
farm alone. 😦
So sorry for your loss! I hate cancer. It's taken so many lives. This group has a lot of strong women that know how to keep going and encourage each other daily. :hugs
I love Highlands. 💞

Woke up early, tried to go back to sleep. Hubs kicked me in the shin as I was just getting sleepy again, gave up and climbed out of bed. He's clueless and still sleeping... :gig

Just got notified that his MRI results were in. We get things before the Dr even has a chance to review it. Everything looks good, I'm so relieved. Thank you Jesus! 💞 We still don't know what was causing all of his pain, but I'm so thankful that he's finally feeling so much better, well his stomach is. The rest of his body is another story. Getting old is not easy on the body. The things we do to them when we're young and dumb really catch up to us...lol

Heading up to Spokane for a wedding today. We'll be staying at our daughter and sil's place. I wasn't feeling good yesterday, while hubs doesn't like for me to be sick, he was kind of hoping I was just sick enough that we wouldn't have to go to the wedding, he doesn't like crowds of people...:gig

Our overnight temps are going to drop below freezing first of next week. We will be back home early on Saturday to finish winterizing. Get leaves of the lawn, maybe mow and water one last time. Then blow out the lines and be done with all of that until spring.

Time for tea, then chores, cut his hair, get packed and hit the road.

Have a beautiful day all! 💞

Slept well until alarm. Looks like some light sprinkles happened, probably just before daybreak. I've gotten 2 loads of laundry washed, dried & folded....thankful for cold ham at breakfast, with hot coffee. Taking a short break before I tackle any lists. See no job work on horizon so seems I'm in "temp retirement" mode. :old :idunno winter routine. I'll just enjoy it for now. When late Feb arrives, there will be more jobs than I want on their lists. Rest my body until then. Plus Jan/Feb is major kidding time & this lets me be home. Works nicely, right? 😊

Third load is beeping, better get to it.

Errands done, palm tree is in the living room, "for now". I was going to put it in the spare room/study but that is a cluttered mess as DS is sorting more of Ron's stuff that may sell well on eBay. Sweet potatoes are stored in baskets surrounded by shredded paper, the dog crate tray is drying off, and I've had a little to eat. Now it's time to get back to work.

Good afternoon (morning for us) everyone! Just sitting down for cup o coffee number 1. It's our weekend so I'm sure there will be many more cups. Feeling a bit better today. Yesterday was just a rough day all the way around for me. Starting off better today. Hubby figured out why the stock trailer is now leaking in the rain. Apparently there is a weather sealing strip over the screws on the roof. It clearly doesn't last long. It covers the screws and the mostly finished welds but there are welds that didn't get completed. Now that the seal strip is cracked and clearly leaking the lack of welds is allowing water in. He's going to try and temporarily seal it to get us through moving. It's more of a warm weather fix. I'm hoping he can get it good to go for the move of the house. I don't think after the house stuff is moved it will matter if there's a leak or not however I would prefer if it's not leaking on the livestock for such a long drive. I need to go out and repack the stack of books that I unboxed yesterday when I saw the bottom of the boxes wet. Thankful that the books are still ok but they probably won't stay that way sitting out in the moisture. We should be tackling some more loading tonight. Not expecting more rain for a week now. I'll wait until hubby says the plan to get started. We did stop at harbor freight last night on our way home from town before work and picked up moving blankets. Still can't believe they are cheaper there than thrift stores for blankets and comforters. Picked up more than we probably need but we can return the extra. Beats having to go to town again for more.
Today so far I've tackled the kitchen and now have green beans in the sink soaking before canning. Waiting for a load in the dishwasher to finish then I'll get to washing jars. Still need to pick more green beans. It's been a week since we've picked. Since it's colder weather they are far slower to get to picking size which has been nice in all the chaos of the week.
Last night I made butter for the week. Normally we aren't playing the butter game week by week but we are right now. I accidentally salted for a pound when I only had just over a 1/2 pound. Had to warn my better half to be extra careful until I milk tonight and get more butter made to mix with it. 😂 It's like licking a salt block with butter on it. oops! I was distracted and thinking it was 1 tsp per pound so did 1/2 tsp. It's a 1/2 tsp per pound. :drool Literally. 😂
Going to read more threads here then get busy canning.
Y'all have a blessed rest of your friday!
Toodles! 🤗
