I went to the Sheriffs pancake supper last night. Took my new neighbor Catherine, from Switzerland. Met a couple I met there last year, they are from Miami and they brought their neighbor Dave. We all had a rip roaring good time. Donations are accepted, at the end of the school year, any graduating Trinity county student can apply for a scholarship to a trade school.

The Grinch showed up and tried to steal presents from Santa Claus. A couple of deputies tackled him, handcuffed him and made him sit next to Santa and be nice to children as punishment.

People who brought new unwrapped gifts for kids put their name in a bowl for a drawing. The Sheriff’s little boy drew the names and 3 people were awarded thermal coffee mugs.

There was pancakes of course, also scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and Woody’s World Famous Jalapeno Cheese Grits. Plus a table with all kinds of fruit, tea and coffee. It was held at the YMCA Camp Cullen. This is the third one I’ve gone to there and it is a nice evening out.

Every law official from surrounding counties were there, plus county officials from Trinity county. Talk about a place crawling with cops! Lots of people turned out to come have a good time and support the scholarship program.

I talked to the Sheriff, the Chief Deputy and the District Attorney, complimented them on a job well done, the collection of evidence, lots and lots of evidence, scores of experts who processed that evidence and the experts who testified. It was a slam dunk. Our rural county deputies stepped up when confronted with a horrible double murder and did their job. The Chief Deputy said it was his first case like that. Most of the crime here is drug related, or some idiot with warrants who decides to run from the cops on a traffic stop.

My new neighbor Catherine had a wonderful time and was glad I asked her to go. I told my friends from Miami to come to the Sheriff’s breakfast in Groveton next month, then come to my house and we’d visit awhile.

Son and I bought me a new washing machine yesterday. It will be delivered Tuesday. All summer I have been taking soggy dripping clothes out of my washing machine and hanging them up to drip dry. It wouldn't spin enough to get all the water out. Now it is winter, rainy, cloudy and I'm tired of putting up with the stupid washing machine. Then we went to a small seafood restaurant, it was ok, not great, just ok and we probably won't go back.
Belt needs replaced or tightened and if not then the motor is needing replaced especially if direct drive.

And I would have to hire a repair man, pay several hundred dollars and it’s at the end of its lifespan anyway. 10 years and you’re done with these new appliances. No more 40 year old Sears appliances, they are gone the way of the passenger pigeon.

My father-in-law was a Sears repairman. Reminds me of a story. Our RAM pickup was having an issue, so hubs called the Dodge dealer, someone answered the phone and my husband says, "I'd like to speak to someone in the service department", there's a slight pause on the other end, then hubs hears them say, "Dale?". He'd accidently called his dad and his dad thought he was being funny and going to ask him a question about an appliance or TV...lol
