It's been a routine morning so far, though I did a little rearranging of the main refrigerator after breakfast. Mushy turnips I found towards the back will be added to the compost outside once it warms up.

Caleb watched. He watches. A lot. He watches the fish in my aquariums, too.

He's much better behaved in the mornings. One would think the opposite. When I take him outside he's very interested in the stray cats, but I usually can get him to sit. He watches, watches, then most of the time loses interest. At that point I praise him.

Yesterday we did some "corner" work, the "corner" being the back door area. I told Caleb to go to his corner, put him by the door, gave the sit/wait command, then backed away to the other side of the kitchen. Failures to stay were met with an "Eh" sound, to which he responded by returning to the door and sitting. At the "come" command he ran to me, sat, and got a kitty treat.

He is very smart, but I kinda knew it already.

He knows Sit, Wait, Off, Crate, Walk, Out, Din-din, other words.

Caleb's been trembling, and hiding behind my recliner for about three hours. At the advice of his foster I put chamomile essential oil on his collar, though lavender EO would have been better if I had any.

@RR Homestead Arnicare cream makes bruises fade faster, plus help with the pain of whatever you did to yourself. LOL great for sore muscles, awesome stuff.
Both the cream and the tabs arrived today. I'm so happy to learn this! I might need to buy some stock in it. 😂Would it be safe to just bathe in?:hide:lol:

Poor guy. Good thinking on the essential oils. Going to have to remember that. I hope he learns it's not hurting him and it doesn't both him for long. :(
His foster has been so helpful. Caleb is only the second dog I've owned that was scared of fireworks.

I take that back. We had a terrier cross who hated fireworks. One year Ron bought Roman candles, and Kyrie came storming out of the house and into the backyard where he was lighting them. She launched herself at each ball as it shot into the air, I think she was trying to protect us.
