My flu is sooooo much better! No more green stuff. Still sound like a smoker, but fevers are gone and tissue use is abating.

I noted that my neighbor's kitchen light was on early this morning. They are in their mid 80's and we keep an eye on them. They are below us, by about an acre. Well, at 7, I heard sirens - way too close. Yup, the fire truck, a Clark County sheriff, the fire captain, another smaller fire truck and an ambulance.

Its been an hour. Everyone has left except for the sheriff. Sigh....I hope they are ok. He uses a scooter and she's on a walker. Hubs will check in with them later.
I'm glad you're better.

Very sorry to hear about your neighbor's widow. But shouldn't she have some sort of survivor/spouse benefits?

Morning!!Gizmo sleeps on top of me in the recliner. She has nightmares and its my job to wake her because I am her emotional support human. Then she calmly growls and snarls at me until I pet her…she has one or two quirks

Next, Boone comes back inside from telling off the cowboy’s dogs that pass by, gets a big drink by plunging his head into the barrel and proceeds directly into the house and slobbers all across my face and neck, in case I am not yet awake.

I. Need. Coffee. but my hip isn’t up to the trek…
Boone's antics make me laugh.

For all you "sickies" -- glad everyone is feeling better! 😁

@murphysranch it sounds like that neighbor couple was not married. Would that be correct? I'm surprised there was no provision for her, like a life estate on the house. Sad. Death & wills create some ugly scenarios. 😞 Even if an assisted living would be needed/beneficial, it's a mental move. If a life estate had been willed, she could at least stay there, hire help, or rent the house to help pay for her assisted living. Of course, financially she may be fine, I'm just not "feeling" that. 🫤

Ran some errands. Did chores, walked around. Checked my propane tanks & there's a full one and between 1/4-1/3 in other one. That will probably last me thru Feb at least. Good!!! Haven't turned the stove on this yr but will next weekend. We have some really warm days Wed-Sat next week. Save gas. 😁 Plus I want to vacuum it out & ck it over first. Another tractor part arrives Wed. Again, hoping it's "the one". :fl :he

Forgot to mention....relative to meat $$, etc.

The attny gen for MN, Keith Ellison, has initiated (prob has other states along) a lawsuit against Agri States for alleged violation of section 1 of the federal Sherman Act.

Agri States collects, assembles & distributes data (some not public) from the various meat processors & producers. Alleges this compilation is to help these companies control markets, availability & prices. Price fixing. Hope it works to stop that.

So many fireworks and gun shots here. Worst to date. Tons of bassing parties all around us. Miserable night.

Our new house has a huge tub. I can't wait to use it but there is HUGE mirrors all around it that must go first. Not sure what will replace them but it's creepy the mirrors in that bathroom. :hide I hope you get the wallpaper finished quickly and enjoy some good soaks.

Will be saying prayers for him.
As to mirrors!

That used to be a "thing" my grandmother had mirror tiles, but they had gold veins on them that blurred your image a bit. As a kid I thought it was cool, but it was in a POWDERROOM! So, no nudity.

The first house I owned, down in Texas, had one wall of the dinning room/ living room as wall to wall mirrors. We had only one baby then toddler at the time. He LOVED the mirror wall!

Absolutely genius! So simple and I know for a fact I would have never thought of that. Thank you!!!! :hugs
Oh! Yes.... I had forgotten...

In this house, the "toilet closet" has a glass door (that faces a window, not the toilet, and that window is the only one in the bathroom). I used sliver paint and painted a middle section so it feels more private, but light comes through the paint a bit, and on top is still clear glass, so when standing at the bathroom sink you can see out the window.
Paint is nice, and easily and quickly scrapes off glass if you don't like the color.

I think they've been married about 15 years. He made it clear that the house goes to his girls. I'm not privy to anything else, but time will work it all out for her.

One DD lives in Seattle and the other in FL, and announced recently she was moving to Costa Rica. Guess that will be on hold now that they have to settle their father's estate.

Kay's DD lives in Portland, and came right up. Her son announced recently that he and his wife are moving to New Zealand.

Its just shocking that one minute upright, and then next second gone.

Life can be so fragile and there are no guarantees as to how long we will be here.
I'm glad to hear she has good support from her daughter. Hopefully he made provision for her, she was his wife. I also hope his daughters will do right by her.

In some ways, it could be considered a blessing, dying so quickly...no pain, lingering illness, long care facility decisions, medical expenses.

I'm glad Kay has family, hope they do right by her.
