Sell it unwashed "in the grease" to spinners who will take it to be processed or process it themselves. Processing it yourself is a real pain. LOL

Dorset wool is easy to spin, but coarser than Merino and fine wool bred wool. Hand spinners and knitters prefer the fine wool but. But because it is coarser, it is liked by people that spin alternative fibers like Alpaca, Llama and Angora rabbit. Dorset and the coarser wools were traditionally used for exterior and hard wear garments like socks, sweaters, etc.

I would advertise it as a specialty wool to hand spinners and crafters. That natural creamy color should make it desirable for them to add to their natural colored Alpaca and Angora fiber.
Not sure what the people who are interested in the fleeces spin. Should be interesting at least. Let's see - I tanned a hide last year - might as well process a fleece this year?? Or maybe ask for some wool back after processing if I give a fleece away. Hmmmm

Got a little wet stuff from the fog and a touch over night -- ~1/16
Dumped the little bit of water and shook out the snails and slugs :sick

Got the ram lambs weighed (and the other rams because they went through the chute) who have their "date" and trip to butcher tomorrow. The youngsters each gained about 5 lbs in 10 days.

Grazed the ladies and lambs a bit, then put them in a pasture and pulled a bunch of wild cucumber (icky stuff - stinky vine that the sheep don't like and won't go near).

Goofed around a little ala the new "Barbie Doll" thinking give it a try.

I know how, but do I want to spend the time "making" the box. Perhaps when it rains

You're rocking that Barbie look 💗, but you need just a little more dirt... :gig

Everything is so green. Looks like the sheep are loving it!

Harvest day yesterday. Three lambs. This is the last time our butcher will be here :( he closed his shop (will be taking these three to another butcher he recommends) and has a job at a huge place in --- Arkansas. Another one bites the dust :(.
All went well, as to be expected. After all was said and done, he said to me - Nice lambs as usual. :):) Wow - doesn't get better than that and from a butcher who has won awards in his craft. One of my clients, a neighbor, was here for the harvest and took all the innards. By noon she was working on head cheese and had already had spleen and eggs for a late breakfast - said it was yummy.

Now three ewes definitely going to lamb. The two blacks and a brown who I ~thought was preggers all of the sudden has a big ol' bag. She's not too wide so probably a single. Good as she's a first timer.
