Out grazing again today. So great temps in the 40s absolutely perfect. The quiet, the crisp air, and those cute triplets - and Obi lover of baby lambs.

Interesting --- the lil lambies got tired and all piled into a communal nap while the mamas and rest of the ewes sort of circled around them. Cool to see, but it doesn't happen all the time.

Looking like it'll be another good grazing day tomorrow!! Then we're in for a forecast of rain Mon-Thurs.

I don't know if I mentioned it earlier or not, so here goes - Obi got a hematoma in one ear a few months ago - then a couple weeks ago the other ear. 😢 No known cause other than possibly hitting an ear on something when he'd shake of water or whatever. Now his ears look like something Collie or Sheltie people would kill for.
I miss those ears that would touch on the top of his head. He's been checked by our vet (who is the best) and it's purely cosmetic - which I already knew. While we did the check we also did an old dog check (it hurts to type old dog ) and he is in perfect health and bloodwork is perfect as well. Vet says he wishes every dog Obi's age was as good as Obi. Obi will be 11 in March. Where did the time go?

Obie is in great health and a happy dog. Working dogs have that need for being useful. Obie certainly is useful and loves his work. I know you will tailor his work to his ability and let him be Obie.

Those black and white lambs are show stoppers! Just so spotty and gorgeous, the conformation is there, the color is the frosting on the cake.

Went out grazing again this morning. Yeah - normal everyday thing while we can. Today was special though.
Went out with a dear friend (she had a dog from us who she just lost at the age of 16 1/2 -- nice long life). She is an amazing photographer and artist. She got to take pics. A little different grazing moving Obi and or sheep to get good pics. It was a ton of fun for all. Yes, including the sheep and Obi. It was sooo much. Obi worked like he was 6 (not going to be 11  ). I do believe he was showing off ;). And there were times when he was not working for me, but for my friend LOL not that she was telling him what to do or anything - but Obi I think knew his job was to set up some good pics :lol:. He does understand what cameras are for.
So I snagged a few pics from today......

You can see Obi's head on the left. Silly boy - who's he working for??

The triplets are eye catchers... and they are growing so fast. The ewe is an amazing milker.
Thanks! She's a good ewe. First time she needed to be coaxed into letting her lamb nurse - but after that she's been incredible. All of the lambs are around 15lbs at 15 days old.

Wind and rain yesterday and last night. 9/10 of an inch. #rain and two shade sails down. On 4x4 post snapped and the other the metal cable snapped. Such is life.
Supposed to be more of the same tonight. Good part was it didn't rain during the day today so the sheep weren't cooped up in the barn.
