Last night -- less than 1/10 inch #rain2026

Out grazing again. Sheep are eating everything in sight - not being picky like they have been in previous years. Wonder why?? Nothing has really changed. Rain is supposed to move in around noon so we were out for a few hours and then put them in the pasture. I'll move them to and into the barn when the rain starts.
Open faced triplet ewe lamb.

Chowing down in the meadow - an area they have rarely been interested in in the past. That's Miss Piggy the red one looking at me. She's a pill.

There has to be a pill in every group... keeps life interesting! 😂

Forgot to post this yesterday. Almost 0.6 inches #rain2026 from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

Winter weather today 40 for the low, but 67 for the high (that's too high, but that's the way the weather is now a days - abnormal) Temps going into the 60+ low to 77 high the coming week. Hills are already turning yellow/brown. There will be weeks of weed whacking very soon.

Why are the hills turning brown with 6" of rain? Too little too late?
That was 6/10 of an inch. But even so - we are that dry. Too little too late. We should've had most of our rain Nov-Feb. So far this year we have about 4.3 inches of rain total. This year I've finally figured out to keep track of the rain in the journal. It'll be interesting to see what it is for the year.
