We have an awful time with European paper wasps here. They are extremely aggressive and don't let up once they hone in on you. I go on weekly night raids for them suckers. At night is the best time. They are all home and slow moving. They love to nest in the squeeze chutes, under the roof tin on the house and in all the farm implements. They even like finding way's into engines. It's regular to go to fuel up a truck to find a new nest behind the fuel door. We fill every pipe and hole we can in with foam every few years to lesson the load of them. Picture an old western stand off. Double cans of spray in hand. A flashlight and old western music playing. Ching. Ching. Ching of the spurs walking up to them duel style. Ok maybe not quite so dramatic but it's what I picture every time the hunt is on. Sometimes sniper style depending on where the nests are at.So, after a little more research. Paper wasps are usually more aggressive than hornets. But, hornets will attack in a swarm if they feel their nest is threatened.
You might want to have your hubs help you with this. Get it while it's still small.
Maybe I should invest in a gilly suit. I dislike wasps very much.Great visual!!!Picture an old western stand off. Double cans of spray in hand. A flashlight and old western music playing. Ching. No, thankfully. His plan was to knock down the nest then step on it. He grabbed a broken broom and tried to squish/swipe it down but the broom broke and the wasps came out. He's going to try again today.Did he get stung... ouch.
Hopefully that second person also follows through. Then I just have a bottle baby to sell.Make sure you get rid of every single one so you don't take them to your new home. I'm sure your neighbors would appreciate it.We have an awful time with European paper wasps here. They are extremely aggressive and don't let up once they hone in on you. I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate them. As were loading the trailer each time I have to go through the trailer (climbing on boxes etc) every few nights to kill new nests they are building on the inside of the roof of the trailer. I have news for the paper wasps, there are some HUGE wasps at the new place. I don't think they'd stand a chance.Make sure you get rid of every single one so you don't take them to your new home.
