We were just finishing up for the day and heading inside. The way the sunlight was pouring through the trees and spilling into our yard, brightened my day a little.- Thread starter

Went on a trip to pick up plants and fish for our new bee pond. Everything isn't in its permanent place yet.
What does this have to do with chickens?
The lady that was helping us gave me a bag of Azolla. We setup one of our stock tanks and added it. I'm hoping the girls will like it and I can use it as a food supplement. They didn't seem too excited with their first taste...lol
Supposedly this stuff grows like crazy. We have a few feeder goldfish in our wishing well, we're going to move them into here.

I've read azolla is very high protein & good chicken feed. Also duckweed. The thought to do as you have there has crossed my mind. Not happened so far.
