I know they are originally from Switzerland, but I was hoping someone had imported them with a breeding program here. I wonder how hard it is to get sheep shipped in from Europe........... :/

Thanks for the kind words! I am so relieved it is healing well. It just looks like a large gash now, and no signs of infection. In terms of the dog, this was human error. Not the dog's fault. He is an old, large dog and did not grow up around livestock. He has never tried to get through...

Well, one of my large dogs got in the pasture and got a hold of my Babydoll wether's leg. This is the right rear. I have washed it out, sprayed with Vetricyn, applied Swat around it to keep the flies off, and he has gotten 2 doses of Pen G (the large animal vet I called was not interested in...

Fiona my Babydoll X Suffolk ewe, had triplets last Saturday (lambs are 8 days old). It was a bit of a surprise, since I knew she was pregnant, but didn't expect the lambs until May. SO, she didn't get boostered with CDT. Now, I am going to band the tails tomorrow, do I give the lambs Tetanus...

For the record, my mini-donk is NOT mean, he is a sweetheart, but I am sure temperament has something to do with handling. My pony is the one you have to watch out for. I vote donkey....

Our donkey HATES the cold here in Nebraska, but is fine in the heat. As long as he has dirt to roll in for his "bath", he's good. His buddy the fat little Shetland sweats like a pig and stands in the water trough in the summer and we can't get him out of the snow in the winter.
