I am 34. Have operated a construction business for about nine years. Wanting to start in cattle. I know little about it, but the question is, can it be profitable and support a family of 7? Obviously people do it all the time, but I know everyone has their own luck and lack of just the same. Any information would be helpful and appreciated!

I was given a Angus cross heifer last night. She is 1-week old and has contracted tendons. She has not been able to stand up. She was on mom for 2-days.
We gave her a selenium shot and a Vit A & D & E shot. She is eating great . But when we hold her up she won't even attempt to stand. Both front legs are super tight! Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
