I thought it was amazing also! Her doeling is a greedy little thing so she may be nursing all night for all I know. I am just going to continue milking Victoria through the summer, then let her dry off in the fall for a November/Dec breeding, ( I hope!)
I have a very nice large alpine doe (Victoria) that kidded in march 2012--twins does.
Victoria still occasionally lets one of the doeling nurse--I guess 2 or 3 times per day for just 10-30 seconds.
Anyway, I just started milking another goat,(Maple) who just kidded this yr. I separate her...

In the winter here in Western new york, my goats spent most of a long winter on hay and some grain--not much grass avail. in the winter here! Now that you mention it, they did drink alot more water in the winter!
