    Cecotrope question

Hello, I am reading that it is important for rabbits to eat their cecotropes. How does this happen when rabbits are in a wire cage? Can/will the cecotropes fall through before the rabbit has an opportunity to consume? Thank you

    Question on being prepared

Hello, I have a doe that should kindle January 16th. She will be a first time mother and this is my first time breeding rabbits. How prepared is over prepared? ......Would it be silly to go so far as to buy formula for the babies in case of rejection or other issues with the mom? I'm at least...

    My Hutch Set Up

Good advice! Perhaps that is why I have been lucky then. The hutch has always been by my window and I pretty much stay at home all the time. It weighs around 150lbs, I can't rock it, and I built it for under $110. We do have motion lights and the cage wire has been pulled through and sandwiched...

Where should I place the hutch?

I like the under the deck idea. Safe from a lot of weather (cooler in the summer, protected from wind and rain in the winter. You will have to deal with any sanitary issues for your own sake, long before any of your neighbors get whiff of them. Plus, they will be nearby to keep an eye on them...

Hello, I am glad to be here. It seems like I am growing my little homestead everyday. I now have Rabbits, Chickens, Guinea, Ducks, Geese, and feeder pigs in a couple months. I would also like to get a dairy goat in the next year, when I get more fencing put up. I am still playing catch up with...
