Welcome to BYH!! You have quite the collection of animals. I only have rabbits, but a friend of mine has chickens, ducks, and Guineas. The Guineas are really annoying, and fight with her rooster. Anyways, what kind of rabbits do you have? Oh, and pictures! We all love pictures!

Hello, I have a mixed Silver Fox Buck and two pedigree Silver Fox doe. I am expecting my first ever kits in January. These pictures were taken right after we bought them and brought them home...2 1/2 hr car ride. They are settled in my greenhouse now, while I work on building them their new cages.

Welcome to BYH from a neighbor to your south. I am in CA, near Redding but you aren't THAT far away compared to my friends that live on the "wrong coast". ;) I have family in Lebanon, Corvalis, and Newberg so they are all right there in your area but none of them raise any livestock at all, only a few cats. On the other hand I seem to understand chicken math and goat math very well and have enough critters for all of my family. Eight years ago I had 9 chickens and 3 goats and now over 40 of each. I also have Guineas and a few ducks.

You sound like you have a good start to your farm but let me warn you...goats are addictive. :D

Welcome from Ohio! Sounds like a busy place, good luck with the plans for a milk goat (or goats, as mentioned they do best with at least two). Looking forward to pictures when you have time.
Here are some pics of our place and animals. We also just got three kittens and we are adopting an Australian Shepherd puppy in January.

Our kittens L-R) Hiccup, Queen, and Mittens

Some of our EE and Guinea getting out of the rain. How good their choice was is debatable...

Some of our other birds...Chinese White Geese (our goose just laid her first egg today), ducks...Khaki Campbells and Cayugas, I plan on also raising muscovies this Spring.

We moved to this place late summer and we were starting to clean up the back area.

Hello, I really want dairy goats. I have milked cows and I figure I am already up early everyday so I could fit milking into my routine very easily, but they are one year off in my plans. This year, I will be spending learning about goats and I have three out buildings to build, three rabbit hutches, and a pig pen.... and animal enclosures to build first.

Sheesh, lots of stuff to do on this new place. Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. You are all very kind!

Holy cow, it is wonderful you have so many! I also have 7 ducklings set to hatch in 2-3 days. This is the first time I've incubated eggs. I'm also looking forward to the Eugene poultry fair this February and bringing home the last of the birds I am wanting...but, as chicken math goes....one is never done with his/her flock!

I incubate eggs quite often as I have more eggs than customers since I retired. I had a lot more chickens last summer too but a wiley coyote found a weakness in my fence long before I did and I lost about 20 birds and three ducks. My birds all free range during the day and I don't count them at night so it was really the missing ducks that made me realize that something was amiss. Then I started looking around and realized that all my Marans were gone, all my Polish were gone, quite a few EE, a Buff Brahma roo, and more. :hit Also a few of my chickens that sleep in the trees were gone and this was happening in broad daylight. My livestock dogs don't have access to the chickens or this never would have happened. I now have a hot wire and the marauding has stopped but I did see the villain looking at them through the fence one morning.

Ducklings are so much fun to hatch and raise, but boy are they messy compared to chicks. I have two Rouen hens and a friend gave me 5 eggs to incubate. Only 2 hatched but they are still young so not sure of the sex, hoping at least one drake.

Hope you get a good hatch.
