So he's been scratching his head on his brothers as well as branches and stuff.. Then I woke up to his bud looking like this... Normal? I've kept antibiotic ointment on it...
Just wondering if this looks normal.. I've googled images of disbudded goats but haven't seen any like mine.. So I'm just checking with the experienced folks... Also, why does it look like there's metal? The silver part? When will it start healing? I've not noticed a single change since I got...
Hi all! I'm stocking my goat health cabinet and wondering if you had a good probiotic to recommend? I've got 2 9-week old, and one 6 week old Nigerian Dwarfs. All wethers (if that matters). There's a lot out there so I don't know where to start or what brands to trust. Thanks!
Anyone heard of this recipe or one like it? I just happened along it and was curious.
- 1 gallon whole milk
- 1 can of evaporated milk
- 1 cup of cultured buttermilk
Also, would switching to this from just whole milk be worth it if the baby goat is thriving without it?
Also, thank you all for your support! Y'all are amazing and not I'm really not sure I would have gotten these sweet babies without this forum. It really is special. Now if only human-related forums were this supportive ;)

Will check his temp more often, thanks! Update is that he is indeed walking around the yard now. I came in to give my human kids lunch and watched him from the window and he came out and was exploring. It seems he's just a little more timid, at least that's what its leaning towards. But I do...
One pic is of him (he's on the right) with his half brother, he was alert and seemed happy. The second pic is what's he's doing now. Just standing in the corner. In between last night and this morning he's come out a few times, tail up and curiously looking around his little pen, but when we...
Ok- so I just brought home my first goats this Saturday morning. One (out of 3) is not wanting to come out. He stands in the house, showing a little interest in his hay. He nibbles a little, eats a little. He seems to be drinking pretty regularly. He just seems lethargic. If I go to pick him up...
