Having very strange weather here. T-storms and rain. The fourth in four days. We don't get T-storms here on any regular basis. I know you all do, but down here in San Diego county at the most it's ~maybe one a year - AT THE MOST. And now 4 in four days?!?!?!!! Very strange --- been here since '89 and since then this is out of the ordinary.
El Nino and the strength of them determine as such. We don't get rain like that, but we get snow like that!

I’ve been through several El Niño and El Nina and nothing compares to this. Strange. Of course it could be part of a 100 yr pattern so there’s that.

Our La Nina last few years aren't what they claim to be of is supposed to happen here. I give up in trying to figure it out, my weather rock is pretty accurate so I am counting on it right now.

Hmmm...on internet, so we know it's true 🤣,🤣. Gist was they're closing plants but hiring illegals heavily for others -- job losses, etc. 🤷 Who knows.

Cooler for a few days. But, time of year -- Spring is coming anyway. Rain coming this weekend, so I'll juggle job work to those days and get farm work during week. Have today to work those with Fri close date. Then tractor therapy for couple days 👍

World issues continue! I'm sure things were in upheaval 20 yrs back -- but no Internet brought it to my immediate attention. If I didn't read the paper, my life was calmer then. ☺️

Read several internet articles on the boycott of Tyson products... I think there is truth to it, but again, you take everything with a grain of salt... still, cannot imagine them hiring illegals out of NYC ???? But they will not be the first company to do a layoff of the higher paid workers with years of experience, then come back and hire on lower paid, to replace them.

I used to do the ammonia refrigeration on Tyson and other cold storage/processing plants. (20 years ago) It seemed that 99% of the line was hispanic. Not the Maintenance, refrigeration guys or of course the management.

Good morning all. Going to be a nice warm 75 today, with a 28 degree start. We had 26 and a new calf yesterday morning. I brought it in for a warm up and some imprinting. Got a reddish, chocolate with a cream/white bellyed Zebu heifer.
Maybe I'll finally have a trained Zebu. (in a couple of years) With only 2 cows and the loss of 2 calves the last 2 years and waiting years for the heifer to get old enough to breed I've had 0 success. Currently have another heifer penned up so she'd be calmed down with the kids playing with her, they don't. I walk up she runs. Tried separating from mom and bottle feeding at a couple months old with her and the steer that died last winter. He was better than the current heifer. I may need to trade her for another.

Remember it as yesterday as the missiles flew over my head and the fighting ensued. This day in history...

In other news blizzard coming, better chain up the 5 ton and get ready to save whoever drives off the road or gets stuck in a snow bank. Need to get more hydraulic fluid to get the loader moved, wasn't enough with 10 gallons to get it in.
