When I got back from church, Fancy had twins. I dead extremely small white ewe and a strapping black and white ewe. Fancy is second generation, this newborn ewe is third and eligible for registration. 27 lambs born, 26 live lambs.

I now have 3 bottle babies. My sickly ewe has been caring for them and I see them nursing, but the lambs just weren’t active enough to suit me. I picked them up often to check tummies. I think I have about a thousand white lambs with brown neck spots right now. @Margali suggested livestock paint. Brilliant as usual, but I didn’t have any. So I made a mess of myself with blue food color. But it sure helped me keep an eye on them. The ram lamb was always with his mom, the ewes were usually laying down. They were empty today, so I pulled them. They were hungry and sucked their bottles down.

Registerable ewes, not leaving them out to go hungry.

I have a question... why bring them in to bottle feed if the ewe is still mothering them? Why not let them stay out there and just bottle feed them out there a couple times a day? It's not like your sheep are running on acres and acres and hard to catch them? Less mess and cleanup in the house... I get it when they are rejected by the ewe....
